Introducing ‘what we breathe’: an evocative collection of poetic words, a look at queer love through the seasons.
These words are the healing balm I didn't know I needed, until they started coming thick and fast, amid my first WLW heartache. It's inspired by the women I've loved, the women who have loved me, and the way that love blooms and fades, and blooms again through the seasons.
what we breathe...
Love. The beginning, the middle, the end, of everything.
This downloadable ebook is a collection of poems and poetic musings on love - how it changes, and how it changes us. It started as a cathartic ‘making sense’ of a relationship that tore me apart and healed me and tore me apart again.
My first woman loving woman relationship.
My tender heart healed - as yours has, over and over. This work evolved into all those moments that get stamped into our heart's timeline when we open ourselves (even a tiny amount) to another soul. Even when we don't realise it… and we find ourselves in situations we never dreamed possible. And we find ourselves loved in ways we didn't envision. And we watch as we bloom, and fade, and bend, and bloom again.
I hope you love this collection and I hope find yourself in its pages.
what's inside?
An excerpt:
"As the broken earth sighs with relief when the rain finally collapses into her, so my parched lips sighed with relief when your mouth met mine. After all that time."
240-pages of love-fuelled words to speak to your heart and remind you of how deeply you've loved.
It starts in autumn…
Retreats into winter…
Begins to emerge and bloom in spring…
Before ripening in the summer heat.
I'm Sophie!
Hi, my love! I'm the human behind Untamed Hearts Club, and this collection. Love, in all its shades and all its forms, is the beginning, the middle, the end. From self-love to romantic love, to friend love, to familial love, to love for nature, life, the cosmos. It is everything.
Poetry is a healing balm for me, and there is a divine feeling when able to channel and articulate something that is bigger than me. It's all of us.
When I'm not writing poetry, I'm usually cooking delicious vegan food, creating something (like my self-love affirmation decks), enjoying nature or coaching (I'm qualified in coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming, hypnosis, and Human Design), managing a vegan social media brand, going to gigs, and delighting in slow days in bed.
My mission is to remind you that you are, and always were, inherently worthy, and inherently magnificent. And so, so loved.
In connecting to our creativity - our conduit to the universe - there's great power and healing. When we share these creations, we remind others that they are not alone in this human experience, and we show them it's possible to live out our dreams and visions. I hope you find some magic in these words and find yourself in these pages.
